Drew Primary School

Collective Social Responsibility (CSR)

Collective Social Responsibility (CSR) gives us a way to put our values into practice every day, engaging everyone in the school community, and helping to create a happier, more socially and environmentally responsible organisation.

We have a huge opportunity as a school to create impact directly through what we do today, and in the future through the children we educate.

In Partnership with The Felix Project since 2022

We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Felix Project for the third year running, after one of our teachers (and previous CSR champion) Ms Newman set the project up.

Each week, The Felix Project provide Drew with a weekly delivery of healthy surplus food - everything from bread to broccoli! We then have it for sale on our 'Drew Market Stall' where families can pay what they can afford for the items that they need. We then use the money to buy more food to add to the stall, to help expand the offer week on week.

We really love it when families send us photos and recipes of what they have cooked at home with the produce from the stall!

So - come and visit the Drew Market Stall every Tuesday in the school playground after school, and pay what you can for what's on offer.

The LEGACY Music Project

This project was all based around community, and was led by our Music teacher, Ms Katie Collier.

In 2023-24, we were hard at work on a project called LEGACY which helped our pupils to access music and develop a love of creative arts. We wrote our own song which represents the important legacy of Drew Primary School and our Silvertown and North Woolwich community, referencing eras across our history. The LEGACY (Learning, Engagement, Growth, Achievement, Community, YOU!) is now a part of our ongoing music curriculum, helping our children to develop a love of music and take part in exciting artistic opportunities.

Drew Primary pupils loved getting stuck in, creating a music video that captures the voices of our children and those in our community who make Silvertown such a wonderful place. As part of this, we worked tirelessly together to collect photos, memories and stories about our school and area to celebrate the unique community we have in Silvertown. Some stories are dating as far back as 1895, when Drew Primary first opened, or from pupils’ experiences during the Blitz and photos from the local area – they are so moving and special and we are delighted to have their voices heard as part of a video celebrating our community.

We were incredibly excited to have the video professionally recorded by producers and videographers, and will be uploading the video to this page soon so that you can enjoy our school song in your own homes!
